Cersaie
Bologna Italia
International Exhibition of Ceramics for the Building Industry and Bathroom Furnishings
Organized by EDI.CER. spa - Promoted by ASSOPIASTRELLE
Cersaie is the most important international showcase of ceramic tiles and bathroom furniture, a leadership position that is clearly demonstrated by the figures. A total of 88,552 visitors attended the last show, including 24,724 foreign visitors (27.92% of the total). This percentage makes Cersaie the world’s leading tradeshow in terms of foreign attendance.
Another positive figure was the increase in numbers of accredited journalists from 573 to 580, with foreign accounting for 44.66% – a new record for this show both as a percentage and in absolute terms.
In 2005 a total of 1,030 exhibitor companies were accommodated in the 156,000 square metres floor space, including 204 foreign companies from 32 countries.
A wide range of product categories were on display, including ceramic tiles, sanitaryware and bathroom furniture, raw materials, semi-finished products, equipment for ceramic products, equipment and materials for installing and displaying ceramic products, publishing and services.
Again in 2006 there will be a packed programme of events, including the economic conference organised by Assopiastrelle, the CTI International Press Conference organised by Ceramic Tiles of Italy in cooperation with the Italian Trade Commission ICE, the technical seminars organised by the Centro Ceramico of Bologna and other cultural events currently being finalised.
Cersaie will be a key appointment for all industry professionals, whether distributors, architects, building companies, interior designers, installers or students, as Bologna becomes the heart of the ceramic tile and bathroom furnishing world for a week.
23 editions of Cersaie have consolidated the success of this Exhibition that, once again, is announced as the most important ceramic tiles and bathroom furnishings fair. Cersaie is considered a prestigious opportunity to show off products with aestethic and technology innovations, to meet architects and designers, to deal with the world of retailers. An opportunity to exhibit the results of tecnology experimentation and research paying a great attention to aesthetic and quality, to attend lots of activities in order to value new ways of combining architecture with ceramics, to find confirmations of its use in big building yards and in everyday’s life, besides suggesting new trends in design and lifestyle. Cersaie is an event both of products and content, and a good opportunity to take personal professional know-how to a deeper level.
CERAMICS
Ceramics: strong, functional, welcoming, versatile. From time immemorial ceramics complies with tastes and needs of an ever-evolving society. Thanks to its ductility it fits several house styles: simple lines and warm colours of natural stones, terracotta and travertine stone, use of inserts and decoration trims for the rustic style; full body porcelain stoneware tiles with mellow pastel tones or brown shades for the minimalist style; elegance and sophistication of surfaces that look like marble, with its extreme brightness and veins, or warm and natural wood for the most classic styles. Finally the mosaic, brightening up and embellishing any setting: in ceramic, glass, metal or natural stone, multicolour, iridescent, asymmetric as a fitting or decor piece. Ceramics for public spaces, from the shopping centres and public utilities to meeting and entertainment places. Ceramics in big buildings yards and restoration works, for prototypes and design innovations.
BATHROOM FURNISHINGS
High technology and elegance dedicated to natural philosophy and “lounge fashion”, where spirit and body find once again a dimension of total relax in the bathroom. Futuristic multipurpose chrome or satin plated sanitary taps and fittings; roundish, enveloping, ergonomic whirlpool baths; large and elegant shower stalls recalling wellbeing, gratification, relaxation and playing a role of undiscussed centrality. Ecological and innovative materials along with the most traditional as steel and frosted glass, plexiglas and polyester besides the ever-popular wood make the Exhibition a must-see. Design and practicality combine in objects often sculptur-like, with bright colours or mellow pastel tones, strict and essential or soft and voluptuous geometric shapes. The trend is once again to abandon the idea of the bathroom as having mere practical qualities and the accessory as being only a complementary object. The bathroom expresses a vital space and not a fringe area where the protagonists are, once again, the aestethic sense and the desire for personalization and top-quality products.

Cevisama
Valencia Spain
CEVISAMA, the International Ceramic Tile and Bathroom Furnishings Exhibition
CEVISAMA is the leading trade fair and the most international event held in Spain for all the different subsectors taking part in it (ceramic tiles, roofing tiles and bricks, sanitaryware, fixtures and fittings, raw materials, frits and glazes and, in even years, machinery). As such, it is an unmissable event and a unique opportunity to make contacts sure to lead to future business opportunities for companies and professionals from the five continents.
Thanks to more than 20 years of experience and its enviable know-how, CEVISAMA is now considered as the event that sets the standards for all the sectors involved.
The whole product range, all the new introductions
CEVISAMA is an excellent annual showcase for the latest in design, tendencies and manufacturing systems for all the sectors represented at the fair.
With a much larger area than ever before, the new exhibition centre will host a higher number of Spanish and international companies who view CEVISAMA as a springboard for presenting their latest technical and decorative introductions. In other words: over 74,000 m² dedicated to design, new introductions, research and development, aimed at providing solutions to an increasingly demanding market, putting CEVISAMA at the forefront of trade events in the industry.
:::: CEVISAMA keeps on growing
The initial forecasts for CEVISAMA 2005 look like they are going to fall well short. Compared with the 76,000 square metres we had originally planned on, the fair has actually contracted more that 84,000 square metres. There will be 1124 exhibiting businesses at CEVISAMA, of which 366 are coming from outside Spain, further reinforcing its international dimension.
Led by 2005 National Architecture Prize winner Guillermo Vázquez Consuegra, the jury for the 4th Tile of Spain Awards of Architecture and Interior Design decided when it sat last, Tuesday 22nd November, to award the prize in the architecture category to the Spanish Pavillion at the Aichi World’s Fair in Japan, designed by Alejandro Zaera Polo and Farshid Moussavi (Foreign Office Architects-FAO).
The 24th CEVISAMA, the International Ceramic Tile and Bathroom Furnishings Exhibition, is set to take place in Valencia from 7th to 11th February 2006. In recent years, CEVISAMA has promoted the links between ceramic tiles and bathroom furnishings and architecture and decoration, showcasing the finest products available in the international marketplace.
H2Show is the name under which CEVISAMA is launching a new venture that will highlight the trends that exhibitors are showing in bathroom and kitchen furnishings. H2Show is part of the CEVISAMA Indi programme, which encompasses all the events relating to innovation and design that take place during the main exhibition.
The upcoming 7th Tile Fixers’ Meeting will be a veritable multinational event. The Association of Professional Tile Fixers (Proalso) has had the support of the European Federation of National Tilers’ Associations (EUF) in organising a tilers’ championship. Contestants will be selected to take part by their national associations.
CEVISAMA, the International Ceramic Tile and Bathroom and Kitchen Furnishings Fair has announced that its International Industrial Design Competitions are now open. The next show, set to take place from 7th to 11th February, will feature the launch of the competition’s new corporate identity.
The Spanish Ceramic Tile Manufacturers’ Association (ASCER) has announced that the competition for the IVth Tile of Spain Awards is now open. With a total value of 45,000 euros the Prizes aim to reward those architectural and interior design projects that make the best use of ceramic tiles made in Spain. This year the ASCER Prizes once again include a category for the best Degree Projects.
Both exhibitors and visitors have hailed the latest CEVISAMA exhibition, held last February, as outstanding. A satisfaction survey reveals that 92% of exhbitors and 93.7% of visitors intend to return
The dates for the 24th CEVISAMA have already been set at 7-11 February 2006. As in all even numbered years, next year’s event will also host the biennial Machinery Fair.
The TRANS/HITOS, or "New Routes for Ceramic Tiles" display, organised and staged by ALICER in collaboration with CEVISAMA, ASCER and ASEBAN and sponsored by IMPIVA has created quite a stir amongst the 90,000 plus visitors who attended the 2005 CEVISAMA, the most international yet. The items comprising the TRANS/HITOS display are to be installed in the "Manolo Safont" Tile Museum in Onda.
